I was thinking about a new form of earrings. And it was a nice idea to create something like wing of butterfly or flower petal. These earrings have an interesting clink because they have a few thin beads. The purple rose color from German Reichenbach very fits for this task.

I started making little monsters during COVID. They were one of the ways of entertaining myself and others while dealing with the negativity of the Pandemic. Needless to say, I look forward to when I can retire them. Until then, I'll continue to make my goofy little beings.

I like to make small, intricate things with glass... bats most wee, pipsqueak pachyderms, diminished dragons, small science vessels, and Tiny Tomes! This tiny tome is made using Ivory for the pages and Periwinkle Blue for the cover. It's been made into a necklace so that someone can carry Wisdom most wee with them wherever they go!

My latest glass endeavor is Color Play, layering silver glass and non-reactive glass for interesting hues for my latest Nebulae series. Blue Violet is one of my favorite colors thus many of my explorations qualify for this month’s Peri challenge!

I hadn't made hearts for quite some time and decided to make a few, since February is the month of love. Periwinkle with teal green has always been a favorite color combo of mine, so I decided to make a small set. As always, I prefer a little dichro sparkle to zing things up!

I love making hoops for perfectly mismatched earrings. I used periwinkle and dark periwinkle Effetre glass. With these three hoops I'll always have a fresh set. I'll never be as precise as H.T., but I am thankful she has shared her knowledge with me.

I love the sparkle and softness of this hue that brings to mind a field of Heather.

Exploring the qualities of glass and color are what drive my work; using light and transparency in surprising ways along with layering color on color helps me to create unusual contemporary beads and jewelry. Inspiration comes from my gardens, the ever-changing light on the ocean, the seascapes that surround me…anywhere colors collide in nature. Pure silver and gold accents add a final tactile quality, allowing my pieces to be as interesting to touch and view as they are to wear.

I love all colors in the purple family. This bead was made by experimenting with overlaying pink stringer onto a purple base bead and then encasing the bead in clear. I'm pleased with the result.

As a maker, my work is inspired by everything I see, feel and experience. It is a personal expression of self through creativity and a growth process through the interweaving of color, form, texture and line. The technique used in my work is glass engraving, a centuries old Italian style of grinding and sculpting called Battuto. The result is definitive lines, angles and the matte finish.
Each piece is held in my hands against stone or diamond wheels to create textures – textures that vary in patterned faceting from deep grooves to very subtle lines. The end result is a tactile surface that invites touch. Since glass absorbs warmth, it is my way of drawing people in to reach out, feel the matte texture and experience my work as the designs are infused with distinctive energy and spirit.

Here is my entry. Thanks! This made me get out on the torch and play with some of my favorite colors! My passion in glass is sculptural and fish are some of my many favorite critters to create. The 2022 Pantone Veri Peri is a beautiful shade of blue/purple/periwinkle and some of my favorite colors to work with. This was a fun challenge to play by mixing and layering lots of different shades of purples and blues. The result is a fish named Sheri Peri.

This bead set, destined to become a jewelry set, is a return to some of the rose style techniques I learned when I first started lampworking. White opaque glass was encased with transparent purple glass and pulled into stringers creating a very peri tone. Leaf cane was made using intense black over green and made into a twistie. Black base glass was decorated with happy white dots and made into straight sided lentil or pillow shapes using a brass press. They were then adorned with spiral swirled roses using the encased peri stringer and “push and pull” leaves using the green cane. Coordinating small spacers were made using black glass wound with the encased peri stringer. Voila! Ready for spring stringing.

I've been experimenting with murrine the past few months, and I find periwinkle a beautiful base colour that goes with just about any murrine colour combination.

I am fairly new to glass still due to my limited torch time and dig through my pounds of shorts (that I bought to get a good selection of colour to get started) as otherwise I wouldn't have had a good match in my limited stash. I decided to try and match the periwinkle shorts with a Multicolor Dark m/black twistie as I thought the colours would compliment, and push myself using a large press I've never used before (or worked this large!). Didn't get a good blue strike in the twistie, but turned ok nonetheless.
